Mt920 And Ctl920 Capacitors

I am wondering if it is ok to replace a MT920 capacitor with a CTL920 capacitor? I know the CTL is 3V and the MT is 1.5V. I just want to make sure that by using a higher voltage it will not damage my movement down the road. Please help. Thanks

Capacitors are used to "store" voltage and the voltage depends upon the circuit the capacitor is matched to. The size of the charge is measured in capacitance or uF / pF There is usually a problem if the capacitance is incorrect for the circuit. The voltage is usually the amount provided by the power source and the rating is actually the max voltage the capacitor can take and not the amount it will charge up to. So if the original was rated at 1.5v it seems that the power source only provided an amount less than 1.5v so using a 3v should be ok provided that the capacitance rating is exactly the same. Check the capacitance.
