Aloha,

I am brand new here and have never repaired a watch before. Years ago I purchased a Victorinox watch and before I even wore it, the sweep hand fell off. I threw it in a drawer and forgot about it. A week or so ago, I decided to try and reattach the sweep hand as well as replace the battery. In order to remove the movement to access the sweep hand, I had to remove the winding stem which I managed to do somehow. I did unscrew the small plate that appeared to hold the stem in place. In any event, I do not know how to replace the stem. I inserted it ito the movement and reattached the plate but the stem simply falls out and does not engage the gears to adjust the time.

Any help out there?
