Trying to replace a battery on an older Piaget Polo but can't seem to figure out the crown to fully get the case off.

This thing friction fit and just needs a presto tool on it and a bit of "umph!"?

Welcome to the forum.

Looking at this the crown comes away with the case back.

If it's still got the original 388 battery then you'll need to get a spacer for the new one.

I do have a spacer and the correct battery.

I got the screws loose and there was slight separation but there was resistance and I didn't want to get to rough with it.

I was thinking I might need to use a presto on the crown while the caseback was still screwed down because looking at replacement crowns, the horrible pictures show it to be ridged like it's friction fit. And I really didn't want to go perking on this thing while still attached to the board potentially REALLY messing it up. Or are you saying to unscrew the caseback and give it pull without messing with crown and it should cone with it?

It's not my watch, so I really don't want to mess it up. I'm quite proficient in mechanical rebuilds and services, but the caseback crown is throwing me for a loop...
