Hi there!

Apologies for asking a question and for help with my first post, but I'm a little stuck.

A good friend sold me an L&R Master that needed some work. It was working intermittently but was having issues spinning only in one direction. Initially, I thought it was the bad install of the reversing mod on the underside, but since disassembly I've come to the conclusion that the motor might need either a service or replacement (one of the coils might be burnt, although both sides show good resistance and no open circuits). At the very least it needs a new cable installed as the old one is in bad shape, and I understand that these can be lined with Asbestos. I also cannot get the case open - the screws come out fine, but the bottom half of the case rotates freely and won't budge. After reading many threads here I think this is because of a stuck slinger, but I do not have the tools to remove it safely. I also need to get the basket mount off and it's stuck fast - been soaking it and the shaft for three days and it still will not come off.

Does anyone service these or am I just screwed?

Many thanks!

these are simple brushed motors. Disassemble it, clean it up, check the brushes, and then test. Id replace the power leads to the coils since it is very old. Dont cut any of the stator wires

As I mentioned, the case is stuck and I cannot get it open.
