I have bought a replacement movement for my omega eta 281001 by buying eta e03.001. All this because the battery for the old movement is no longer manufactured.

I have now got hold of a new movement from England but the pin in the middle is too long and the glas stops the pin from moving, i.e. a slightly longer pin in replacement cal. I then tried to move the middle pin from the old movement to the new one but then the wheel in the middle pin does not come into contact with the minute wheel.

Do you have any tips? See the attached picture. It is the small wheel at the middle pin at 242 that does not make contact with 260.

Welcome to the forum.

The ETA E03.001 comes in 3 different heights.

As you've already got the movement your best option is to get different cannon pinion & hour wheels to suit. (If they've available)

Edit

So it looks like they're not available so you'd have to buy another movement.

Where can I buy new movement with 3 different heights and how do i know how to measure so it fits?

So what version of the movement did you buy and can you measure the hour wheels on it and your original movement?

Where in the world are you?

Bought it on ebay and said c.e03.001. Does the c mean something?

Where do you find h1 h2 h3 spec? All I find is according to image

They're at the bottom and they're classed as Reduced, H1 & H3 but you don't stand of buying a Reduced movement.

Thank you. Is it A measurment that I shall compare on my old cannon pinion?

The easiest thing to measure is B the hour wheel.

No i was wrong. I found the spec of my old movement. Cannon 1.41 and hour wheel .71.

I guess i need to order h1 and try if it is enough?

So if you measured your old hour wheel and it's 0.51 then that's the reduced version and won't work with the 1.6 H1 Canon Pinion from Cousins

As I wrote I was wrong about 0.51. It was 0.71. So I guess I can try h1?

Yes if the old hour wheel is 0.71mm then it will work with the 1.6 canon pinion

Perfekt. Tack så mycket!!

Now I got the new parts and manage to set the hard rotor in place. Can see rotor is turning when setting time. But when putting in battery nothing happens.

Took a magnet and turned clockwise to try to force it but totally dead.

Any ideas what might be wrong? Tried with electric from from 2 movements. Same problem.

Samma problem.

One thing I noticed was i need to turn magnet anti clockwise to make clock go clockwise. What I read it should be the oposite right?

So this is the new movement that worked previously and you've just swapped the parts over?

Not sure what you mean about turning the magnet, you should be using a magnetic field generator.

Yes. this is a new movement with swaped parts. So next step the generator?
