So, my wife has finally let me service her Movado Ermeto- this is a Zenith branded example from the 70s. It’s the smaller ‘Baby’ model, with a pin operated quick set date. The calibre is 578 with Incabloc shock protection. Very nicely made!

All the parts are cleaned but before reassembly, I’ve been thinking about lubrication. 941 on the pallet stones, 9010 on the ‘scape, 4th and 3rd wheels, and either 9020 or HP 500 on the centre wheel.

I’m not sure about the calendar works however. I’ve epilame treated the calendar plate, driving wheel, jumper and quick set lever. I’m inclined to think 9010 might be more appropriate than grease, given the size of the movement. I don’t want to use anything too thick in case it causes drag.
