I have a problem with my new ETA 2834 movement. It appears that the autowind is not working. I noticed that the rotor was hitting the case back causing it to stop after main spring depleted. I cut and installed a 0.010 thick washer to stand off the case back.  It still stopped working. I blued the interior of the case back today and will inspect to see if there is an interference..

Not withstanding the above the watch is hard to wind. The other 2400 series watches I have made  have wound very smoothly.  Is there a way to determine if the autowind is working, i.e.to determine if the movement may be stopping on its own.

The hard winding bothers me as I can not tell how much the main spring id wound.

It’s always something.  Comments as always appreciated ,  Dave
