Minute hands rotates 60 minutes in 3 minutes!

Model of watch is a Fossil JR7897 digital/analog big tic watch.  The hands of the watch are moving extremely fast, hour hand follows suit of minute hand.  The minute hand can make 3 full rotations in as few as 30 minutes and the hour hand moves the equivalent 3 hours as well.

 

The other is I am not sure the LCD display is being illuminated properly and the light button does not appear to affect it.

 

It only appears green if I shine light on it in the photos of it off my wrist

Have you just got it? What have you done with it i.e. replaced the batteries?

Just replaced both batteries, has one for analog and one for digital display

I also noticed that the alarm does not make any sound i believe it's missing a piezo spring.  Can this affect backlight as well.  And can backlights be repaired/replaced?
