Installing the balance with the top plate on is a complete barsteward.

If you are new to watch repair then do not attempt this yourself unless you feel very confident with removing and replacing the crystal and/or you are prepared that it may not go the way you hope.

i think we were all confused as i've never seen a crystal cover the "bezel" like this. It does look like the crystal needs to come. Maybe its just a press fit, and you can pull the movement out and press it out by hand
