Hello everybody,

I got this citizen ladies watch with a very interesting case design which I've never seen before (not that I'm an expert) the problem is the split winding stem is well split, I have the actual winding stem and the crown but the link between them is missing, is there any trick or gack or any thing I can do to fix this problem because getting a replacement part where I live is basically impossible.

I do have 2 spare winding stems but they wouldn't work with this case since theyare not split.

The movement is citizen 6900 which is runming extremely good after I've cerviced it, working on this movement was a joy unlike other ladies watched I've worked on.

Regarding the case, you can find the photos attached please let me know if this design is common.

I don't know if it's just me but I find the background very distracting.

Yes, I was going to mention that the photos would have been better on a plain background.

You're right sorry about that I usually have a mat on the bench but I took it off to clean it, here are a couple of photos on another surface.

I don't think so, I tried another winding stem with the cylindrical  part intact and it was too long and didn't fit which is weird I'm not sure how it's supposed to be supported at the tip.

I think the winding stem for this particular case was  custom made.

I can see now that the tip is missing from the stem.

Does it fit and is able to be secured in the movement?

Are you sure Nev and Andy aren't right ? The stem has no pivot to hold its position.  Check the movement for the pivot hole, I've never seen a stem without one.

The part I have does fit securely in the movement, I am as surprised as you are and I did try another "complete" stem which was too long, I'll try to cut the tip of stem I have and see how it fits.

I'll also check if the movement has a pivot hole.

Just thinking about your wording in this thread, you said that you have 2 more stems but they are not split,  they dont fit because they are too long and you think that this original stem was custom made. You are aware that different makes and calibres of movements use a different stem unique to that movement dont you ?

Is the other complete stem for this movement ?  Some stems are interchangeable between calibers and sometimes between makers, but there are thousands of stems of all different shapes and sizes

I have spare stems for the exact same movement from another watches, I can be clueless sometimes but not to this degree.🤣

Ok I was just checking 😄 no offence. Strange that the others dont fit if they are from the same watch. Check that the stem pivot of this original one isn't  stuck broken inside the hole in movement

None taken 😁.

I will check for that when I go home this evening.

I expect this is the case and why another stem won't fit as it should have a pivot.

I pulled up the citizen 6900 at the balance staff .com sire earlier, it didn't look to specify a split stem

If you can, check these sizes ammar, though not forced to be the same, it may give you a clue as to the correct stem

For sure the broken pivot is still inside the hole, it must be removed to alow the other stems to get in.

As Nev tells it.  One hole one pivot, unless you're watching some XX rated adult movie 🤷‍♂️

You guys are right there was a piece of the old pivot stick inside the hole, it took me like 45 minutes to take it out and now the stem I have fits nicely.

Now I need to find a new split stem or use another case which I do have but I kind of like this one.

(that XX rated movies joke cracked me up🤣🤣)

Thank you very much guys.

Ok, I'm curious what results would I get if I search "pivot in hole" on those sites, this conversation is gonna get us both blocked from the forum🤣🤣

If that were the case i should have been banned a long long time ago. A bit close to the knuckle i guess, harmless fun, but point taken lol.

Besides i can blame you,  for losing your pivot in a hole where you shouldn't be losing it.

Just realised my double entendre " point taken " 🤣🤣🤣🤣
