I was pleased to pick up a selection of some tools on ebay (v cheap 🤣), and they've just arrived,

I've been looking for a crystal press for a while, and this one is ideal

But in the selection is this thing - what is it for?  (it's about 3" long)

Something to do with stem tubes?

I used Google Lens on the pic and it suggested "motorcyle belt punch". And googling pics of that does show very similar tools. The end on mine is sharp, and does look suitable for punching holes in leather. I've no idea what belts on motorcyles would need piercing? The hole is about 1/4", so I cannot see a use in watchmaking. So, why have we both found one in a collection of watchmaking tools?

Very strange, i started to think for punching holes in a leather watch strap , but mine is also 1/4  inch drill bit. This is my bike jacket so maybe correct.17143079769375310838885920542498.thumb.jpg.cd87d861122f9cc9c2d4a7aab027abd0.jpg

I asked the question of one of the sellers. Its for removing the pins and making the holes in motorbike drive belts. God knows why they were both in two seperate joblots of watchmaking tool, thats bizarre. I haven't posted your setting lever steel yet mike, been busy with my mum past few days and had a locked myself in at home lazy watch repair day today 🙂 but I'm out tomorrow so i will get it off to you then.
