Hey guys, I got a Raketa Perpetual Calendar here as my first watch to repair. It has the Raketa 2628.H movement. Everyone is going smoothly, with only 1 slight problem: one of the springs for the calendar has launched itself out of the search area of my magnets! I think I found the right part to order on eBay, but I want to make sure first.

This is the plate with where the spring is supposed to go:

And this is what part im looking at, it's listed as the Date Jumper Spring:

That looks like the correct part. But that is actually a very easy spring to make yourself.

Get the thinnest guitar string, 008 or 009 inch thick, and using a round nosed plier, make a bend with the correct curve radius. It might take a bit of practice, as the wire is elastic and will open up a bit when pressure is released. Next, cut the ends to the correct length and file the ends flat.

Putting the date spring back in Russian watches can be heart stopping. Some can be inserted through the window after the calendar plate is screwed on.

Others need the spring to be wedged into the recess for it in the plate, put the date wheel detent on, tension the spring against the detent lever, then turned the whole assembly over and fit on. And pray nothing flies off.

It ranks at the top of my list of most dreaded things to do.

But luckily for you, the 2628H belongs to the first category. There is a video on YouTube that shows how it's done.
