Please help a beginner! I’m having  Great difficulty in aligning the escape wheel  on this FHF ST96.

i checked the pivots,no apparent damage …bt the upper pivot won’t enter its Jewell , indeed when axially aligned the pinion seems to be nowhere near the 4th wheel teeth. So I spent much time repeatedly replacing the train wheel bridge, but no luck yet.the lower pinion is correctly aligned.

grateful for suggestions, please!

If you look down at the escape wheel's pinion in relation to the center of its wheel.  They do not look concentric because the pivot is tipped away from its intended location.  Can't see if the other pivot is in the jewel but I would hope it is.  Nudge it back into position while fitting the bridge.

Good luck.

Hi tony. Can we have a nice close up macro shot of the top pivot. This one is prone to getting bent when replacing the train bridge. It can be the last one to place and its the smallest of the trainwheel pivots. One trick is to place a screw in the bridge very lighty and work  the train wheels in one by one without trapping them.

Well, thank you one and all for the welcome advice.patience and perseverance won the day!

what I learned:

check all components under magnification.Take a break!

also I didn’t Take into consideration the side shake and end shake engineered into the components when assembling.

thanks once again all.
