Hello.  Frliends, I need some advice about how to install a crystal in a bezel.  I consulted you over the last few days about a certain Omega in which the mov'mt exits through the crystal.  As I mentioned then, the crystal was a VERY tight fit in the delicate gold bezel.  How in the heck can I get the crystal installed without risking distortion of that bezel? I have this Omega tool and I can see how it would make installation in a more conventional case easier but can it lhelp me in this case? Thanks.

Oh, I forgot to mention this.  The inner dimension of the bezel through which the crystal must pass is 31.5 mm.  What size should the crystal be? In other words, what should be the interference factor? Cheers.

That tool comes from a complete set for removing Omega crystals. They are re-fitted after with a press.

I have documented this in a couple of videos you may find helpful:

Thanks Mark. The pneumatic method for case opening was very interesting! I'm not really surprised that my tool is for removals; just hoping. Unfortunately, I'm no further ahead since my bezel is a mere ring of gold and even if I had a press such as the one in your vid I don't think it would work without special dies.
