Hi,

I'm working on an Elgin ladies watch from the 1920s with a Grade 447, 7-jewel movement.  The hairspring was out of shape, so I tried to fix it.  Being a newbie, I ended up breaking it near the stud.  I bought a donor movement on eBay that claimed to have a "good balance," but it had a kink in it as well.  I made matters worse by trying to remove the kink.  Now, I have two hairsprings that are unusable.  I tried finding "new" hairsprings for the movement but didn't find anything.  Obviously, I'm not skilled enough to repair hairsprings yet, so I'm hoping to find "new, old stock" or a replacement hairspring or balance complete for this movement.  Does something like that even exist?  I'm trying to avoid rolling the dice with donor movements off eBay again.  Thank you!
