Help how do I get mij balance attached to the cock? Or is that the wrong term?

The old balance was broken etc.

Now I have a couple new replacement ones but I cannot get it reattached. Just to much movement etc. How do you guys do this?_20200220_233225.thumb.JPG.e8d83d43d42a8d7dc5a1f4c1038f731d.JPG

Hi the terminology is ok.  To connect the two parts first open the regulator (boot) by turning through 90 deg, this will expose the pin.next lay the balance in the jewel and manipulate the balance spring stud into the hole in the arm and just screw the screw tight enough to hold the stud. And close the regulator boot back to its correct position .  Now re fit the complete assembly into the watch taking care to get the pivots in correctly, at this point do not screw down the cock but recheck the balance fitting. end shake etc and its free rotational movement. While the balance is rotating slowly screw down the cock maintaining the free rotation. Once done ant the balance is fitted and screwed down check the flatness and concentricity of the spring if both are in good order finaly tighten the stud holding the spring.   Hope this helps       Cheers
