So I’ve been doing this washer trick for a couple of weeks now and I have to tell it it is genius — haven’t fouled a single seiko mainspring since. Thanks again.

I took this watch as part exchange for a Seiko 5 I restored and sold Looks like someone lost an incabloc spring and thought “I know what, I’ll use glue here!” Surprisingly is nearly runs!

My neighbour has asked me to get his Dutch Zaandam John Warmink Atlas wall clock working (photo 1). It has been stored in a loft for some time & the only really obvious issue is the bent arbour (photo 2). Would this need to be heated before attempting to straighten it; & could that be done safely in situ?

Just got home and realised how small 0.5mm spring steel looks. Do you have any drills to measure the hole size in the case.

I know, I'll try harder Cole, using a smaller piece of wood and less electrical tape, i could also shorten the power supply cable to make it more cost effective .
