The horse done left the barn on this one, but I love this idea! I will use it next time because it will happen again. I have a lifetime supply of 60/40 solder, so I am good to go. I guess I am surprised that solder will bind with the steel arbor. Never tried it. -
What does the boss look like where the screw is and the alarm bolt yoke fits over. Is everything flat including the setting lever and yoke spring. Also something doesn't look right with that yoke spring. -
Yes, a rather strong smell of ammonia if you get closer than half a meter. It very much depends on the quality of the ultrasonic machine. Then again, some people who have invested in an ELMA US, report outstanding results. I don't know what to think. If I can get a used Elma for a decent price, I might want to give it another try. Anyway, I'll keep my fingers crossed that your US will do a good job! 🤞 -
Thank you Mike for the hints! I did go to HS Walsh and buy few tools that will help me start 🙂 I also went to the Royal Observatory at Greenwich, I saw the collection and it is amazing!! Harrison H4 is indeed an amazing manufact, and the story behind it (about the prize from the government) is incredible. Again, thank you for your suggestions, you made my day! -
