Rolex 3135 minute Pinion setting fitting

Hi, Just looking for some advice on how to fit the setting with jewel. It needs to be pushed into a hole in a small steel plate. I have a Horia type tool but need to know the best place to push so I don't damage the setting. I can push on the jewel itself that sits inside the setting, that should drag the setting in or I can push on the rim of the setting. The setting shape is that of a top hat with a rim that can be pushed. Any recommendations here?

I push on the rim, and place a sheet of plastic between the setting and the pusher to leave no marks

Thanks so much. I had another look and followed your advice. I think that pushing the jewel itself would more than likely push it out of the setting.
