Hello!

I am relatively new to watchmaking and I have noticed that I am regularly having a lot of issues with the keyless works on especially ETA movements. It happens surprisingly often that I assemble a keyless work that looks completely fine, yet when i go to push in the stem, the set lever always slips out of the sliding pinion which makes it impossible to change setting with the crown and stem. Are many ETA movements like this or am I doing something wrong? What are some tips to avoiding this issue?

Two of the movements aI have been having issues with is the ETA 2872 and 2892.

Thanks in advance

Are they ETA or are they clones?

Can you post photos.

Is there any signs of wear on the plate or on the setting lever itself?

Is the setting lever spring/jumper engaged correctly?

The setting lever and plate seem relatively unworn. Here are some photos. How big of a difference does it make to remove and reinsert the stem in the time setting position rather than the winding position?
