I bought a "bag of G-Shocks" a couple of weeks ago and it included a few really cool vintage Armitrons and an old Casio Edifice.  The Armitron is a digital/analog watch and I absolutely love the way it looks.  The link is a picture of the same watch, not my watch.  I was successful in replacing the digital window battery, but I can't see any obvious way to change the analog section's battery.  And before I go removing crowns and what seems to be hands and the face to get to what I can only imagine is a second battery, I was hoping someone here might know what's going on here.

I have a set of rudimentary tools for opening cases and adjusting bracelets, battery changes, etc,  but no hand levers.

I guess if I have to I will get hand levers, as I really like these "mixed media" vintage watches and especially the springy bracelets and they are cheap as chips at the moment.  I think they could be a way to practice cleaning without breaking the bank.

Yes it's just a single battery Miyota T485 which should have a 399 battery although I suspect this isn't the problem.

I don;t suppose you've got any quartz testing equipment?

Took it apart as much as I could and dared.  The discoloration on the metal covering seems to indicate the copper coil or whatever that's called got really hot.  Maybe that's the issue? Thankfully, I put it back together and it's still working.
