Need help to find Tritium bezel pip/dot/pearl

Recommended Posts

Hey there!

As we all know, tritium vials went dark faster than the company claimed 12years or 25 years, it becomes unacceptable to me after around 7 years,
so I been busy trying to replace the faded-out tritium tubes for my watches, I got everything taken cared of, except the little pip/dot on the bezel:

it seems like a utility one, which used by many familiar brand names like Isobrite, Deep Blue, Hazard 4 and Tawatec

I managed to removed one from my ISObrite watch by force, it looks like a small chamber, ferromagnetism positive, so I think the main housing is made with stainless steel, there is a AR coated sapphire window on the top, and the bottom is opened, it's 2.3mm in diameter, got a tiny small tritium vial insalled inside horizontally, (probablely 1.6 x 0.5 mm)and I assume this piece is sold by the tritium suppliers as a compeleted part, should be very easy to come aroud.

but after weeks serching on the internet, I can't find it anywhere, not on google, ebay history, not even on WUS forum or DWC... Can anybody point me to a place where I could buy a pip easily?

I know it's a weired request, but I've seen stranger things get sorted with your help šŸ˜„

Thanks in advance

Thanks for the reply! No Im looking for the exact same pip, the one with a small glass window on top and tiny little tritium inside, like I showed in the picture, not planning on replace it with ordinary lume pip unless itā€™s a deadend

I think this is the company that does the tubes though they donā€™t mention them on the website but it may be worth dropping them an emailĀ

    • Hi All, I'm Geoff and I've been working on/with watches and clocks since I was thirteen. My dad was a watchmaker and while he did not want me in the field as a profession, I've always maintained a pretty good working knowledge. In the '70's I kinda got pulled back into things because Quartz revolution began and he only had limited electronic knowledge. So we combined skills. He the watchmaker and me the electronics tech. Being here in NY helped because we got to know the folks from Bulova, Seiko, Citizen, and WOSIC. H.B. Freid was my Dad's teacher and I was fortunate enough to get to know him too. I still maintain a bench here at home and occasionally work on watches for friends although the hands aren't what they used to be. Not going to be working on any FHF59 or AS1012's any time soon. Oddly enough though my years working with the field taught me how to work on almost anything else mechanical and mostly electronic. Since I was the one in the family who maintained Dad's cleaning and timing machines. those experiences carried over quite nicely into the worlds of recording and audio as well as others. I look forward to the discussions and maybe still learning a trick or two. Cheers to all and nice to be here. Ā
    • The best and almost only way to achieve the magical Ā£ 4.04 individual watch cost is via the loophole ploy of job lot buys Ross. Dividing down the outlay by the number of watches purchased. I've managed it many times in the past, this then gives you the extra edge of choosing any watch from that lot. Maybe we should have an all time winner, whos prepared to trollĀ  through the last four years of posts and pick some worthy contenders. Unfortunately i have a poorly shoulder so i cant raise my right hand and my left shoulder is out in sympathy for my right shoulder. Put your right hand up if you think i talk a load of bull šŸ’©Ā  Ā  Ā šŸ–
    • Ah but, will you count DIY versions.
    • Ā£10.00 is not a huge amount for a watch these days with the increased asking prices. Letā€™s count ourselves lucky we donā€™t have this for tools, it would be Ā£404.00 šŸ¤Ŗ Ā  Tom
    • I have the perfect solution for this, i just dont invite anyone round.
