Help! Jewel replacement in early Tissot Shock Resist system!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I am working on a 1945 Tissot, Cal 27-3. This caliber in particular has an early version of an Incabloc system called Shock Resist. The problem is that the balance staff jewel (lower) needs to be replaced and I never worked on this system before. I believe it's the same principle as the Incabloc but seems more anoying to dissasseble. There is the the cap jewel that goes screwed and then the lower jewel seems attached into a spring-type structure (I think that would be the chaton) with another small spring fitted on top (the small piece that looks like 3/4 of a ring).

If I would break it, I would be in trouble finding a replacement, so I'd rather ask first if one of you guys dissassembled one of this before and can tell me how to replace that jewel.

Thank you!!
