Hello everyone,

I have an issue I hope someone can help me with. I am currently working on two Certina 320 movements and have found the same problem with both of them. This is going to seem very fundamental but I can't seem to figure out this issue.

After servicing both of the movements and getting ready to case them up to complete the service, I can't get the stems to go back in all the way. I've tried lubing the case tube, depressing the setting lever screw while attempting to get the crown to seat correctly, I've checked under the microscope to see if there is some sort of debris in the crown, nothing seemed to work. I've removed and re-inserted the crown and stem multiple times on both movements with no luck. Any ideas?

I've found turning the stem while inserting often helps, but I'm sure you're done that. Are there movement holders that aren't installed in the case yet?

Assuming you can install the stems when the movement is out of the case...

Do the winding stems fully seat against the case if you don't have the movement in there, i.e. there's no interference between the stem and case/tube itself?

lexacat,

Yes, I turn the crown when attempting to reinstall.

So during the trouble shooting process I removed the movement from the case and the crown and stem but up to the case with the movement out of the case.

I tried to install with the movement holder screws loose and tight with the same result. No clamps only a movement ring.
