Hello, I am hoping that somebody may have had some experience with a Movado 475 Calendograph wristwatch. It also has many interchangeable parts with the Movado 470. I bought this watch with a missing sub-seconds hand.
My question is about whether this particular movement requires a sub-seconds hand with a long tube to reach the the fourth wheel pivot or whether the pivot needs to be extraordinarily long to protrude through the calendar plate and dial? Before reassembly, I checked the pivot under 20x magnification and didn’t detect any breakage (snapping off). Indeed, the long pivot end mounted on the thicker arbor end looked smooth and slightly chamfered. And when reassembled without the calendar plate, the pivot protruded at normal length through the hole, where on most conventional watches you’d fit the dial and the sub-seconds hand would fit no problem.
as I’m unable to get a technical sheet for the 475 movement, I wonder if anyone could help? Photos added to help.
