Hello! I've joined as someone who has a deep admiration for vintage and antique timepieces. I've just added a Dingwall wristwatch (hence the name) that is presumably from the 1930's to my slowly growing collection of ticking things and in my search for answers I have stumbled upon this group. I'm also looking forward to ogling eveyone's timepieces, but there's nothing wrong with having two motives. Most of my collection doesn't work, but the aesthetics of watches are just so enchanting. I'm very excited to learn more.

Hello Guys, My name is Sidney. I am from the US. I am new to the hobby of watch repair. I am stuck on how to remove the mechanism out of watch case. It looks like the watch lens has to be removed first before the watch mechanism can be removed. I have never used a lens press before and I’m afraid of breaking the lens if done wrong. There is a lip around the back of the watch that stops the mechanism from coming out that way. any advice on how to remove it?
