i am a newbie and this is my 1st post. i have just brought a citizen 21j  mov't 8200a.  i opened up the back to take a look at the movement and

when i gave it the seiko shuffle the oscillator weight was spinning very fast round and round. i checked the centre screw which was tight.  does

anybody know this problem, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

yes, it works perfectly on the manual wind which i prefer but i like things to work as they should+

Think the oscillating weight moves pretty easy on this. One way to test is to let i go until it stops and then shake it some to see if it starts running. Then wear it for a day and put it aside and see how long it runs.  If everything is okay and it runs 30-40 hours  there should be no problem.

hi rogart63

yes i did what you suggested but it will not work on automatic for more than a few

seconds.  on reflection one of these watches passed through my hands a good few years ago

with the same fault, but anyway it works fine on the manual wind which i prefer, so i will

keep in my collection anyway. thanks for your input

best regards

roger
