Rotary skeleton wrist watch.

Recommended Posts

I have been given a Rotary skeleton wrist watch for repair. Hardly used. All seems OK except the mainspring is broken. ( no drive thru the train to the scape wheel.) Model GS02519/09 (13349) PLO:006721. It says Switzerland on it but it looks like Chinese rubbish to me. Shall I go further or dump it in the drawer ?? Your comments would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike.

Looks like a chinese 2189 movement. New movement = €80 so not worth paying someone to repair it - most likely you won’t find anyone willing to do more than a movement swap. http://www.watch-tools.de/movements-78/movements/automatic-watch-movement-2189-sc-skeleton-gold.php

If you're doing it yourself it’s no more than a tenner on a new mainspring, assuming that’s all that’s wrong.
