Seiko Travelling clock

Spent a few hours at a local flea-market and picked this up..

You can barely make-out the Seiko branding. Inside is this neat Seiko travellers alarm clock from 1966 commemorating the 1966 Asian Games. Dial is very clean and nice, lume still lumes and the time-keeping and alarm functions work as they should.

Nice quality, I remember Westclox clocks were popular in the 60s and 70s but the quality was not as good as this.

I managed to get some other stuff as well .. will post later.

It was MYR40 which is around USD10.

A Macdonalds Big Mac meal is around MYR15 here so that gives some comparison.

    the west clocks did not have jeweled movments.  some of the Japanese travel alarms have  15 jewels.  vin

Thanks Vin, I'll probably check it out this weekend. You're probably right as the 'tick' is not as loud as I would expect from a pin-lever.. I thought that it was because it would have a weaker mainspring.
