Hi from Thailand

Ricardo

Recommended Posts

Brit expat here, living and working in Thailand. I have a Tag Heuer 2000 auto chronograph that has been in a draw for a decade after it stopped working after being dropped.

I should have had it fixed years ago but never really found any place here in Thailand that came with recommendations.

So recently I discovered this resource and Marks great youtube videos, in particular the 4 part service of the ETA 2892 movement, which has given me incentive to order a few tools and open her up and see if it is an economical repair or not. Perhaps I can send it to Mark for specialist attention?

I'll start a thread in the forum and hopefully get one or two questions I have answered!

Welcome here.

Since it appears that you never worked on watches before, I absolutely recommend that you will not try to repair your valuable watch by yourself. You have really too many chances to do even more serious damages that what it has now.

I don't think Mark is taking work at this time but you may ask him anyway by PM. There is another experienced member from Thailand but he has not posted in a long time and I don't remember his nick right now. The official service center is

T.S.L. International Co., Ltd.

Hi Ricardo, your Tag is too expensive a watch to make a start on. Take the advice of jdm . You may have a HS problem or very likely a broken balance if the drop was hard. In either case if you are just starting then work on cheapo movements until you develop your Watch repair skills. All good wishes, Mike.

Thanks for replies guys. Sending out for repairs in Thailand, not an option. too frustrating trying to deal with that kind of thing here. I might look up the service center in Singapore though.

I hadn't really considered this watch is valuable, poor exterior condition and broken. Only paid £500 for it in 1993.
