remove screw with half the head missing

was happily starting to assemble this and then half the screw head came off and now can't budge the screw. tried lots of baths in the ultrasonic to see if it would let its self go and its not.

 

Any thoughts on getting this out ?

Have you tried a pin vice?

Angle the screwdriver at 45 degrees as you try  to turn it. You can adjust this angle to be lower if you need more side-thrust.

It seems pretty open- maybe try cutting another slot in the remaining piece?

ive done that many times on larger scale fasteners with good success. It might work here too. 

You may also try heating the screw with a soldering iron. That might help it let go enough to come free.

According to how tight it is, sometimes the use of a stout tweezers grabbing whats left of the head will work....

Use the tweezers like a pair of pliers, grabbing the remains vertically and twisting....
