Just bought my first staking set! It is a k and d one, I got it for $160 with all the tools. My question is what tools are in the set that I got, and what are some of their uses? The reason I bought it was to learn some new techniques and to reposition the fourth wheel recorder on an old chronograph.

Nice. Sure could use such a set for changing the balance staff on a PW.

  Hi all Here is an unbranded skeleton watch that I have just bought. The winding stem is broken and there is no crown. There doesn't appear to be a movement identifier which I was hoping for to help me source a new winding stem and crown. Any help will be much appreciated! Here are some pics. And a pic of the broken winding stem I did see a similar watch under the Citron brand but can't be 100% sure. Thanks, Nick

  Thanks for all the replies. I'm probably not going to track down a replacement or donor movement - this cost me about £10 from ebay and it's very much a practice piece rather than a restoration. I've watched a video on how to repivot a wheel. Seems very easy with the right lathe, tools and expertise. But I'm not going to go down that route at this stage in my 'career'. I have got another idea though to get the watch running again - watch this space.
