compliances and etc for watches

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am not sure if anyone knows about some rules/law of watches and how it;s made.
Taking back to a watch raw form, it comes from various parts, example the watch casing, watch crystal, strap, watch hands, watch dials.

Is there certain compliances that has to be followed?
Such as what I know, for watch cases and watch dial, there is the ROHS 2

RoHS restricts Mercury, Lead, Chromium VI, Flame Retardents, Polybrominated Biphenyl (PBB), Polybrominated Biphenyl Ether (PBDE) to 0.1% by weight and Cadmium to 0.01% by weight. There is an anomaly here with the Lead levels of 0.05% allowed by REACH and suppliers need to keep abreast of all this legislation to ensure they do not fall foul of the new regulations included in both the REACH  and RoHS regulation.
