Watch lume handling time.

Hey, how long do I have to work with watch lume before it starts to set?

10 min, an hour?

Thickness/thinness of mix an issue?

Brand? Considering some product from watch lume dot com. other suggestions?

Is there already a thread about this on here?

I have left it overnight. You could always do a test on a scrap movement

Bergeon lume will remain workable for about 10 or 15 minutes minimum (probably longer if you added thinner) and should be left overnight to dry.

I recently purchased the set from watchlume dot com.

The lume appears to be very good and you get nearly 4 times what you do in a Bergeon lume bottle, although I cant tell the difference between the 'aged green' and normal green, but the binder leaves a lot to be desired.

You get 4 large tubes of binder, and I don't know if it is water based or not. It is white and very runny which makes me guess it is water based (But this is just a guess). I went to use it for the first time yesterday and it was mildly warm in my house and found once I mixed it to the correct consistency working time was only 1 or 2 minutes, not enough time for me to apply it to the hands.

I ended up scraping it all off and used my Bergeon lume. I will likely try the watchlume dot come lume with my Bergeon binder when I next have a cheap watch to play with but I do feel a bit under whelmed by the product.

I use Humbrol matt varnish  instead and it takes severeal hour before it dries. Lot of time to work with it.
