Old style rubbed in jewels

I generally work on newer pocket watches to avoid the need of replaceing rub-in jewels. I have the tools now to tackle them.

Can somewone tell me what information I need to have to order them? Beside  make and model do I need to measure the hole?

Also where is a reliable place to get them?

Thanks

I asked a local watchmaker about this a couple of years ago... whilst you can buy second hand selections, the popular ones have generally all been used up. His advice in the specific case I was looking at, which was a 1915 trench watch was to look for scrap movements to harvest from as they commonly used the same sizes, but if possible find an equivalent movement to get the right one.

Im sure szbolagh will be along shortly to tell you how to make one from an old piece of jewellery using a toothpick and chewing gum ;-)
