Hi all does anyone have a scrapper of one of these movements that I could use the gear train out of thank you all in advance for any help it’s for a Rotary dress watch that I bought second hand that I would dearly love to get going again the movement number is isa 228/1332 I’m very much a novice in watch repair and navigating forums so thanks for reading I think my first submission was wrong so I’ve re done it

Unfortuantly the forum doesn't allow sales or wants threads my friend, that being said, I would trawl ebay and find one on there that will sort your needs out. One will come along sooner or later, in the mean time buy a few old watches off the bay so you can practice tinkering before you start trying to get your new purchase running.

If you have any questions then ask away, plenty of very experienced members on this forum.

If you can’t find the parts you need then there are a couple of options...

New movements are still out there, e.g. http://www.startimesupply.com/product/ISA0228-1332.html

If you don’t want to spend that much, then use the datasheet and find a miyota (or similar) replacement http://watchguy.co.uk/technical/ISA/228-1332.pdf

Wait a minute, don't graduate yourself as moderator here. There is nothing against the rules  in asking help to locate something especially when zero value as in scrappers is mentioned.

In fact this happen routinely  and member respond publicly or in PM , often giving the item for free.

      Not SS but very slight wear on the underside edges have a little brass showing under magnification. New crystal arrived £3 with tax. Nice champaign dial color.

      I also just realized I had that tech bulletin saved...but in French for some reason 🙂 No, I don't speak French. 2172_Bulova 11AOAC 11AOACD 11AOACB.pdf While parts are drying I'm on the hunt for a replacement crystal. I can measure the opening and get a generic one, but it'd be nice to find out what the original looked like first. Of course, case code 3093 does not appear in any of my reference materials. JulesBorel lists a C3093 case code, and shows Bulova part # 1222-5. Does anyone have information on this guy? I found a thread here talking about how the -5 is the height of the crystal, but that's as far as I've gotten. I also found one site that claims to have it in stock, but before I risk my $20 I'd like to confirm it's the right part.

      Thanks for the replies. I did the job today and found that the oversized stem fitted just perfectly into the worn mainplate without any adjustment. Original stem diameter was 1.24mm and the oversized was 1.40mm. I did have to make an adjustment to the setting lever though. The small pip that engages with the groove in the stem hub was slightly to wide. I made that a bit smaller with a fine file. Don't ask me why that was too big, it just was. All working very well now. No wobble and not pulling out. New crown fitted as good measure.
