Good day Gentlemen, I have very recently started fixing watches as a passtime. I have some experience in this area but my profession was an electronic engineer. I have the essential tools, some home made and a Timegrapher 1900, de-gausser, etc.etc. to make things as easy as possible. I have fitted a s/h staff to my old Dads Certina and have cleaned, lubricated and adjusted quite a few including a Rolex for a friend and he is still my friend !!.  For Quartz I just change batteries but have a meter, freq: counter and scope if required. I have just bought a bit of kit to run and check Quartz watches and I hope it may make test easier. ??  Am I mad or is this approach OK ?  Mark Lovick is a wonderful watchmaker/engineer. The best !!. I may join but am a bit old for serious work now. Nice hobby though.
