Date jumper spring

I just lost the date jumper spring from a Seiko 4006 and I wanted to know if it's possible to make one out of guitar strings and if possible which thickness should I use ? The thin e string or the b string ?

Pic below for reference. i'm thinking it's around 0,3-0,4mm thick. Would it be safe to make it on my own ? I don't want to buy one...

Think that it's flat in profile. Had one i measured on and it was 0,12 mm . But there seem to be something strange today as everything i touch seem to go into orbit. It went into my parts drawer . So it's here somewhere. Should be fine with a round spring as long as it put some pressure on the click.

Darn it I had just placed an order a few days ago on Cousins. I wonder if mine could be found in there... I have a few of these shepherd's hooks as they seem to be called but none fits or can be modified, I think...
