how to add a photo

hi, 

i am trying to add a photo in a message

the box in the bottom right " insert other media" gives me the option, " insert existing attachment", when i hit that, i get taken to a folder somewhere, on pm laptop, but dont know where!

and i cant change it?

how do i get to a folder i want to attach?

it doesnt show the "drag files here to attach " option like it does below on the left.

hi, i opened an imgur account and tried to paste the URL links, i just get a red bar when i try?

You using browser or app version of imgur?

"the easy way"?  add pix. to gallery, and then transfer to your post.  vin

I think there is some sort of inherent problem with the 'insert other media' program.

It should work better than it does and it should be possible to by-pass it altogether and be able to paste photos onto this site if need be.

I can't get it to work and I've tried a lot of back door methods. "Believe me."

Hosting websites may prevent straight linking for free accounts, so check their policy as well access control for the image

I use Dropbox to store my photos(which is free up to a limit) then when asked to download i go to dropbox,choose camera uploads (smartphon0 and there it is!

I use it, and it works. OP was using the wrong steps.

I still think you should be able paste a photo here. 

All the other stuff shouldn't be necessary. 

If it works for you, great; it doesn't work for me any more. It used to work for me.

Which exact steps are you following, and what happens when it fails?
