Hi All,

I am new member here at this forum, and i am still learning to do watch simple repair.

I knew that the post of seiko 4205 to be replaced by NH05 had passed for years,  but i am  currently planning to repair my Seiko 4205 and there isnt any watch repair specialist willing to do it for me here in Singapore, most of them saying that there is no parts available for 4205 movement.

So i took a chance to browse if there is any way for me to send this watch for repair out of Singapore, ? And then i found a post in this forum regarding replacement of 4205 to nh05. So subsequently i tried to find if there is any seller of this nh05 movement but apparently there is only 1 seller named 'startime' but unfortunately they dont sell to an individual.

I wander if anyone still have a contact of seller whom can supply the NH05 movement?

Thank you very much for all your help and advise in advance,  i hope i can learn more from all expert here in this forum.

Regards,

Djohan

Cousin UK has it, or you can contact SII in Hong Kong. However if you really want to preserve the watch I suggest that you find someone to repair it, in Singapore or other places. It is not said that any part is needed. Also, replacing the mov.t may not be that easy either if done the right way, as some threading may be needed to avoid an hack job.

Ooohhh the 4205, a tiny movementthat ive worked on before a few times, if you require parts search ebay for thewatch collector  he has loads of 4205 and other seikos all for parts, I have a 4205 in the process of being fitted with a quartz movementer,  its not the NH05 as cousins list it as obselete, mine is a Miyota movement, I shall look it out for you to see what calibre it is as I think it's still an available movement.

But if I were you I would preserve the original movement, if neccasary buy a few of those scrap movements on the bay so you can supply your local watchsmith with a ready to hand bundle of parts. But be warned some of these movemend are in are right state and I don't think you would find many people ready to work on the parts ok.

Just had a look through my draw of projects awaiting my attention and found that 4205, ive fitted a miyota  6L12 movement, admittadly ive only attached the dial to the movement, but the date wheel lines up exactly with the window the hands ca me from the donor watch and are diver style hands so work well with the seiko dial

Hi Jdm, sorry for this tardy respond, tgank you for your input. I had asked a watch repair specialist and after he opened the watch back, she dismantle some part to get to know if it is repairable,  apparently he saw the balance wheel has deformed and he finally said its beyond repair. And yesterday i just found the vendor in which selling 4205 movement. Its 'perrinwatch repair' and i purchased it at about 80sgd including shipping.

I cant wait for it to arrived and will try to replace the movement and post it here

Thanks again

Hi Transporter

A big thanks for your input and effort to share with me of what you are working on.

I bought 4205 movement yesterday from 'perrinwatch part', i will replace the movement and post it here.

If i am unsuccessful, i will try your suggestion by using miyota 6L12.

Thanks again...

Dear all...finally i can give an update on my seiko divers 4205.

My watchis working well now after changing exact movement that i bought from Perrin, notwithstanding i am not really sure about the authenticity of the movement because the signed Seiko wordings on its rotor isn't as clear as the original (you can see from the picture attached), otherwise it works well.

After i tested the watch to run for more than 48 hours to make sure all hands working properly after reassembly,  then i decided to also changed the worn out bezel to a black with gold markers.

My this vintage watch looks cool now even with both options (bracelet or nato strap) see pictures.

Thank you very much for all WRT members whom gave me an input and share your thoughts earlier.

Without you all , my project will not reached the goal.20170818_220714.thumb.jpg.a19f294f74a2ee7649117eb5be9d1899.jpg20170905_221913.thumb.jpg.7539f378941064a1cd36c3c1efd00367.jpg20170905_221913.thumb.jpg.7539f378941064a1cd36c3c1efd00367.jpgIMG-20170905-WA0032.thumb.jpeg.2bbe5098d3b0eb97a409196e70515158.jpeg

The mov.t is authentic because there are no fake 4025 / NH05 ever made, due to its  small size and complexity it surpasses the abilities and profit margin for fake makers.
The bracelet instead is fake, a typical item from the Philippines.

Hello Transporter, Does the Miyota 6L12 fit right in case?  And original Seiko hands fit right on?

Hi if you pull the stem to the setting position and observe the movement you should see a small tab press this gently to release the stem.

I have attached the tech sheet for the NH05 for your interest.  Further information can be got from the Ranfft web site  ("Ranfft Seiko NH05")  should bring it up.
