Here with have a Longcase clock and a close up of the dial. This is just an example as there are hundreds of various styles of case and dials about all made at various times in the making of Longcase clocks.

This type has a very distinctive name.

What is the name given to this type of Longcase.  I'm not after the name of the type of case.

I would say that this clock is a "Penny Moon longcase"  due to its distinct small size moon phase,

Correct its a penny Moon. The dials of these clocks very from simple 12 inch square to decorative arched dials. This type was more popular in the north then any other part of the country.

Well done wise1971. I think so far you have got them all right.   133 views and only 1 got it right. :D
