Tool identification

Hi all.

I am trying to identify this allegedly watchmaker tool. Found it in a garage sale but seller doesn't know much about it. If someone can help identify this tool and assess its use that would be awesome.

Certainly looks like the audio pickup for a timing machine to me....

It's a microphone pick-up for a timing machine.

Not much use for anything in its own right but if you can find a way to hook it up to your computer sound card then it would be great used in conjunction with svorkoetter's Watch-O-Scope timing software.

So I guess I'd need to find the right cable to go with it. Might be worth the try if I can get it for cheap.

So your pick up looks like the one in my photograph which belongs to a L&R Tickoprint Transistor TP, Bandelin electronic T46. The actual maker of the timing machine is Bandelin electronic and it sometimes gets rebranded as other machines.

Then as far as getting a cable goes that's going to be an interesting challenge. But you already have part of the plug. The outer covering unscrews which is why you have that brass threaded part sticking out were the plug should go.

Then because this is a newer pickup it does have a sensor for Tuning fork and electric watches.

Just saying what the other lads have said its part of a watch timer the vice that holds the watch movement.

That is more info than I can chew on right now but it gave me the motivation I needed to make an offer on the pickup. Hopefully I'll get it cheap enough. Awesome pics by the way.

Update : I ended up offering 20$ CAN for it and got it. I will pick it up friday. Thanks everyone for the useful info.

FYI, of a $150 Chinese timegrapher, the articulated stand/mike cost retail $95. Which is kinda right, as it is the only part made of metal and not plastic or cheap electronics.
