Schatz Royal Mariner help needed

Recommended Posts

I am working on this at present:

a rather tired c1970's Schatz Royal Mariner with the ships bell striking movement:

& a 4 jewel pin lever platform escapement:

Unfortunately the escape wheel has a broken pivot. Despite extensive searches for replacements, I haven't turned anything up yet, so repair may be my only option. Any recommendations on parts or UK based repairs would be gratefully received.

I think on this one the only answer is to re pivot the wheel. A clockmaker should be able to undertake the task. You certainly need a lathe to undertake such work. Have you tried Schatz?

Some info on the clock and movement here, but nothing about replacing the platform or repairing it.

I desperately need a balance platform for my  Schatz Mariner's clock. It is was produced before 1971. I received it in 1974 when my ship the USS Joseph Strauss (DDG16) went into an overhaul at the Puget Sound Naval shipyard.
