I just saw a clamp on lamp at Ikea yesterday for under $20. Just screw in a 20W led bulb and it should work.

Thanks, the one I currently have has a clamp, but looking at some of these posts it looks under powered. I was looking for something with adjustable brightness that at full power would pull aircraft off course .

Don't underestimate a 20W led bulb. It can be quite bright.

I bought the L60414 from them a couple of years ago and I've been very happy with it. The one you've selected has a larger head and more LEDs, so quite possibly worth the extra.

Very informative thread! After reading through, I ordered a lamp from Amazon. Under $49 US (£39) tax shipping and delivered in 6 hours, yep! This one has 5 intensity levels and 5 color settings from 3200 to 6500. I use a binocular microscope and have the gooseneck lamp in case I need directional light. Don't mind the clutter of watches, those are usually moved off the bench when working on a watch. This really lights up the area nicely. The ring of leds on the binoculars is fairly cool when compared to the new lamp. I like it because once set it returns back to the setting when turned off and back on again.

Yes, and it doesn't give off much if any heat. Slight bit to the touch but not anything noticeable after a few inches away. There are 2 light bars that move independently up to 90 to the front/side. The light bar attaches to a bendable post, so can be manipulated a bit for height as well.

Hi Cousins uk have a good one (led) for around. The £100 mark or was when I bought one earlier in the year. It has a bench clamp.
