Is there a retaining ring missing on this watch?

The movement seems lose inside the case and the rotor sounds like it scrapes the back of the case it ticks and doesn't stop until I put the back on and you can see it drops in the case

Does anyone know the part number that's mission or if there is a screw missing? Face done she keeps great time but not much use to me that way!

Looks like there should be a ring to me... But I've just looked at a similar automatic movement - there's no ring there and it has a similar perimeter gap to yours...

Yes you do it's part no. 8720.2930, Cousins are due to get them back in stock from 2nd July.

Coincidentally, a friend of mine broke the mainspring on his Rolex last week. When he went to Cousins to get a replacement he also discovered that he has to wait until July before it's in stock. Perhaps they only order at particular times of the year.

I have had split deliveries from Cousins and they didn't charge extra delivery.

Indeed - with split deliveries they always send via the method you first chose. So if you chose RMSD they will ship the first package via RMSD (which costs the best part of £8) and the follow-up delivery also via RMSD but they eat the cost of delivery of the second parcel.

I received a back-ordered glass which cost £0.70 via RMSD a while back which amused me!

Anyway I must have had the last one but this has been a successful week! I also picked up a bracelet for this cheepy which I think works well when compared to the rubber it was on

Put together it looks good, from the eBay description I wasn't sure what I was getting

'watch starts and runs for long spells then stops so maybe need a service or oiled , lovely condition , glass , bezel and dial , bezel turns freely does not click and crown screws down nice and tight , therefore spares or repairs'

I thought there might have been à bit of grit/dirt in the watch causing it to stop so chanced my arm and got it for £30 when it arrived it clearly ran well face down but the movement moved around, so thanks to this forum I found the correct retaining ring from cousins for £1.50 and a £2.95 mesh bracelet and voila a fully working classic seiko diver for under £40 to say i am chuffed is an understatement!!

I by chance found the previous 2 listings of this watch on eBay (same serial number and both times sold for under £35) this one won't be going anywhere for a while!!
