Seagull Sg2903

I don't know, Keith, but it seems Chinese movements are short on documentation and spare parts...I'd say impossible to get either unless stripping a good movement from the parts needed. I hope somebody proof me wrong!

Cheers,

Bob

I have emailed Seagull for the part, but I think that will fall on deaf ears.

I will strip it down to the barrel and cobble together a spring. I was trying to avoid stripping   the hand off as the dial is a matt finish that I don't think it would take much to mark it.

perhaps someone has a solution, a new mvt is £94, so not a cheap one.

I've just had a look at one of these Keith, there's no easy fix. If you are lucky you might be able to make one from a fine guitar string.

I shall start it tomorrow. I have some circular Click springs, the broken one fell out so I know the sort of shape.

I shall start from the top and work down to the Barrel Bridge, then it will all become plain and simple....... I hope.

The watch has had little use so I expect it was either a faulty spring or they are prone to this.

If I remember I shall take some photo's, for anyone interested in seeing what is there............

All done..... Not such a hassle as first thought.

Few parts for the Chrono to take off and remembering to zero the watch prior to dismantling. Click spring was a basic circular, with two upstands, so was able to fashion one to fit from my spares cabinet.

All took about 1 1/2 hrs, with putting everything back together with a nice new Italian Leather strap.

I'd make one out of an old Spring mate, just find one of the right diameter & the right thickness stretch it apart & cut to suit, fold the ends up! Make them over long & cut to suit! Give it a go mate! You've nothing to loose!
