This little curiosity is heading to the ranks of the 404 club. It apparently uses a Miyota 6M17 24hr quartz movement, and has a somewhat interesting dial layout.

Although this is an Esprit "fashion" watch, it does have a certain quirky aesthetic to it that is quite attractive, and of course it also has that other irresistible quality, namely a blue dial. 😋

Do the hands 'reverse' after getting to the 3 o'clock position, or do they keep rotating 'forward' to the 9 o'clock position?

The hands are double ended, so the other end appears at the 9 o'clock as the first end starts to disappear.
Its a pretty oddball way of displaying the time for a 24hr mechanism, which is why I grabbed it.

You might find this interesting about the dials and hands, hopefully you can read it.

I have received this piece of sorry.

It is bad green gunk on the movement and on the outside of the dial looks like it had seawater or something in it at some point in it's life.

However the good part is I shook it and it ran for half an hour or so.

This is my ref 16223.  Sent it in for service/repair.  It's gonna be a month or more but it'll be coming back.  Hopefully looking and working great.  Fingers (and eyes) crossed.

Did you sent it to Rolex for the service?

I'm interested to know how much they charge for a Datejust service these days and if they recommended replacing various parts, as some people say they try and push new parts on people unless you ask for a sympathetic service.

Nice project to have.  I'll be interested to see the finished workmanship Tony

Thank you. It might take a while before I start on this one. I am just a hobby watchmaker and do not always have the funds to buy everything I need in one go. These Tudor's usually turn out quite nice when there done I will keep this post in mind.

Guys firstly I must say that I am impressed on all the fantastic vintage watches you all collect

Recently I purchased these 2 from ebay

First is a Precisa automatic of unknown year but looks maybe 1960 ish

Second is a Tissot manual wind of unknown years as well

Maybe some of you may know brand and how old?

Both these are very nice shape Precisa is gold and Tissot is rose gold
