Hi you helpful bunch,

I am trying to fix a watch from a friend that maybe did something wrong i am not sure.
He got a Roamer Super 8 that use to belong to his recently deseased father. He changed the Batteries himself. But now the stem won't connect and get in place.
I am not familiar at all with this movement, be he brought it to me, i assume the hole about the Spring is where you would normally press down to release the crown. Should i take the metal cover off to be able to do something about it, or anyone know i smart trick to fix it. i was tempted to just try something. But as it has lots of sentimental value, i wouldnt wanna ruin anything more than it is.

All help is very much appreciated.

Hi Andy, yes i tried, but as i wasnt 100% sure of the hole for the button, i have only done it carefully.
Was it the one above the Spring? thats the only one where something seems to move

Yes it's the one above the gold spring.

If you can't get it to catch then you may be left with no other choice that to dig deeper into the movement.
