Sicura Chrono 17 Jewel Finished

Recommended Posts

Hi guys, just thought I'd share details of the watch I'd just finished for a friend. The movement is an eb8420-73, the watch was sent to me as a non runner. After teardown, clean & initial inspection, I found the friction spring for chronograph runner was missing a finger & the chronograph second hand had stuck to the glass. ac500cc874a59c8ebad54b2836b07711.jpg6e97021bf0c761ff383f3c46382242c9.jpg0e44419f3b99d1ff0e6bf4e52786f0b5.jpg06a9160527be6a477548e0560f630223.jpg150eca271c05b2d5a4de1caa1070d6c0.jpgc904a6f6c976a28debd395ae667cc548.jpgf855ba50fab07da354e681a74b4103ee.jpg1dcd67814b974ee631006ddeb74e7509.jpg04d982e12a9b2ef00ab25917dc2ca76c.jpg842c79c117afdd0a06f1cc29a2128172.jpgad2039f1c844024134aa06c128c7de49.jpgc2fef5ab5856edd20f3a9c26c5eddb78.jpgb72cac6f54b93c126b730553ce227fee.jpg09f66e73f2d2f957952763d4586d1d15.jpgafter the rebuild I had a problem with the balance & end shake. Dial side down it ran ok'ish, but dial side up it completely stopped. First I tried a new complete balance, it did help but I still had issues. Then I managed to source a new balance bridge complete with balance etc.. & this resolved the issue. 5c96bf2a1ac44869a099bded45c60f5d.jpg988283e914493f06e1d712fa675b8ba4.jpgf85fe9a4fd8bc15e91c37c18c16b6b50.jpg2aed8e226a9e1f948928f326eb6f2f1d.jpg

I then stripped the second hand & chronograph min counter & resprayed with Matt neon paint 046265ff3549bef41ede184edd845ffe.jpgrelumed & replaced the glass with a high dome crystal. af97506c1853c69dfba600c8518813a2.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/09/5b655d63baa2e184e4a045a79ef98fd9.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/09/5169eec975882638ce2d19dc01856f3e.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/11/09/0091d0415802976c328fd91619efdc1f.jpghope you guys approve of the finished article.

Not every ones cup of tea, I have one, pin pallet as with yours.

I just found it in one of my boxes, just hated to see it not going, heavy old beast .

Cleaned and serviced mine too, they seam to have a bit of a following.

Well  got that one wrong, mines a Sorna, it's basically the same type of watch made in the 70s.

Still a nice looking watch buddy. I love the sport style with black rubber.
