Identifying a Swiss Ladies Watch

Recommended Posts

Hello again,

I'm looking for any hints about this movement. It's a ladies watch, I believe it belonged to my great aunt. Wondering if anyone might know about the markings on the movement. A few parts are broken and I need a donor.

Thanks!

Laurie

your photographs look nice except for missing a couple. Providing its old enough in other words 60s 70s a lot of documentation back then had a fingerprint type system. I'm attaching an image to show you what that looks like specifically we need the setting components. Then we also need the size of the watch because otherwise we have to look through a much bigger section of the book.

Then I have a suspicion that the three overlapping letters might actually tell us who made the watch but in the bestfit book that I'm looking at I don't see that? Then the balance jewel assembly is different somebody might recognize that.

So before you look in the fingerprint systems of the books we need the size and picture the setting components

If you're looking to identify a Swiss ladies watch and seek information about the markings on its movement, there are a few avenues you can explore. Firstly, you can try researching the brand or manufacturer of the watch using the visible markings. This may include the company name, logo, or any serial numbers present on the movement. Secondly, consider reaching out to watch enthusiasts or collectors who specialize in vintage timepieces. They may possess knowledge or resources to help you identify the watch based on its unique features. Lastly, if you require replacement parts, consider searching for watch repair shops or online platforms that offer donor movements for the specific brand or model of your watch.

That's so interesting, I didn't realize some movements could be identified from individual parts! I'd post more pictures now but it looks like @Kalanagidentified the movement. Now I'm still curious about the marks on the train bridge but maybe will come across info later on in my travels. As always, I very much appreciate the help.

It‘s a Citizen 0153

Incredible, this looks like an exact match! One question, don't know if you know the answer, but my movement has 0162 imprinted on the main plate, whereas the 0153 model (or the one posted here) says 0153. I tried searching for a Citizen 0162 but can't find any evidence that exists and 0153 looks like an exact match. Wondering how the numbering system works I guess.
